蘋果 iPhone 8 與 iPhone 8 Plus 昨（22）日正式開賣，各大電信、通路廠商都祭出優惠，銷售狀況卻不如預期，甚至還出現現場砍價賣的情形。不過，iPhone 8 系列銷量不佳，在部分分析師看來，對於蘋果並非是壞事，反而認為這就代表多數人都在等待 iPhone X，預估 iPhone X 將會熱賣。
今年蘋果一口氣推出三款新機，包含：iPhone 8、iPhone 8 Plus，以及尚未開賣的 iPhone X，不過 iPhone 8 系列開賣後卻出現需求疲軟現象，摩根士丹利分析師 Katy Huberty 認為其原因可能與市場對 iPhone X 的喜好度增加，並指出若從財務角度來看，價格與利潤較高的機型將會推升營收及獲利，對於蘋果公司來說「是最好的結果」。
分析師也預期，蘋果將在 10 月開始的 2018 年度賣出 2.45 億支 iPhone ，較本年度預估的 2.17 億支增加 13%，且 iPhone X 將貢獻 45% 銷量、iPhone 8 系列則貢獻 47%，其他銷量則來自於較舊機型。
各種運動比賽規則幾乎都講究比賽雙方隊伍客觀條件上的絕對公平，近來足球協會也正在考慮將比賽中罰球規則的射球順序作些調整，因為在統計中目前的規則似乎並不是最公平的比賽方式。
目前足球罰球的規則是雙方隊伍輪流射門，也就是兩支球隊會分成「先攻」與「後攻」，每一回合的罰球都以先攻球隊球員先行射球，之後再由後攻球隊球員射球。但是在最近一篇研究報告指出，這種罰球比賽規則在統計上並不公平，後攻球隊獲勝的機會較大。
以色列內蓋夫本?古里安大學經濟學教授Danny Cohen-Zada表示：「我們的研究表明，足球射門PK比賽的勝率對於先後隊伍來說並不能算是公平。」在研究報告中研究了另外一種競賽先後順序規則，那就是網球。在網球決勝「搶七」的規則中，先攻選手先發一球，接著後攻選手發兩球，之後每位選手輪流發兩球直到分出勝負。研究人員分析了由73名男網選手與135名女網選手在搶七決勝的比賽數據，結果發現這種比賽順序對於先後雙方選手來說有較高的公平性。
目前國際足球協會正在考慮是否將罰球順序改為類似網球搶七的模式。
此外，研究人員表示該研究可以適用在任何涉及先後順序上的競爭。美國紐約大學商學院商業與教育研究中心經濟學家Moshe Shapir表示：「雖然我們的研究是以球賽為主，但行動順序是任何競賽中重要的決定性因素。不只是球類或下棋比賽，在總統候選人辯論會的場合也是如此。」
